Why

Arthritis is a widespread joint disorder, the most significant being the degenerative Osteoarthitis that affects the Ageing Population, and Rheumatoid that has a lasting impact on any generation.

Bearing many mutatious forms, those afflicted strive for independence in each aspect of their life, but their condition impedes the ability to perform even the most simple everyday tasks. In particular, Toasting food using the current toasters and grills on the market bears a range of problems for those who either suffer from Arthritis in the hands, or for those of the Ageing Population that possess limited dexterity.

Conventional toasters rarely accommodate both small and large sizes of food, making it either difficult to reach the toast or producing poor quality toast. Moreover, the food is very hot and, on occasion, sticks to the wire mesh. The interface, which encompasses a range of buttons, are neither easily accessible, nor distinguishable and intuitive, which is difficult for the the Ageing Population that are not technologically minded. The brownness levels on the dial are not easily determined. Consequently, the consumer often peers into the toaster, in an effort to determine when their food is toasted to their taste. Grills possess their own repertoire of issues, including slow single side toasting, hot toast and spinal problems.

These problems encourage this market segment in particular to gather socially. Henceforth, Toasting is not only a method of toasting food, nor is it simply a supplement to a larger meal, but it is a social event that, in this context, the sufferers use to convene around on a regular basis.
